Scientists Warned, 40% Of Plants At Risk Of Extinction
According to an assessment of the State of the World's Plants and Fungi, which is based on research from more than 200 scientists in 42 countries, estimated that two-fifths of the world's plants are at risk of extinction due to habitat destruction and climate change.
The director of science at Kew, Prof Alexandre Antonelli, he said, we are living in an age of extinction and urgent need for action is required.

The report revealed that we use only a few proportion of plants species as food, biofuels and medicines.
The scientists estimated that the extinction risk has become much higher than before which is to 39.4% from 21% in 2016.
Scientists are finding the solution using advanced technology such as Artificial Intelligence and seeking more funding for plants conservation.
The research found 723 plants used for medicine are at risk of extinction, and 1,942 plants and 1,886 fungi were named as new to science in 2019.
